STAINLESS STEEL PLATE

304 Stainless steel plate is one of the most versatile stainless steel materials available. It has excellent forming and welding characteristics.

Alloy 304/304L has excellent strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures. Alloy 304/304L is non-magnetic in the annealed condition, but can become slightly magnetic as a result of cold working or welding. It can be easily welded and processed by standard shop fabrication practices.

304H stainless steel plate is composed of between 0.04% and 0.10% carbon. 304H stainless steel plate is also comprised of at most 0.75% silicon, 2.00% manganese and 0.045% phosphorous. Also contained in 304H stainless steel plate is 0.030% sulfur, between 8.00% and 10.5% nickel and no more than 0.10% nitrogen.

310 stainless steel plate is an austenitic stainless steel used in high temperature applications. It is used in temperatures up to 2,100℉ in continuous service. This grade contains 25% chromium and 20% nickel, making it highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion.

316 stainless steel contains an addition of molybdenum that gives it improved corrosion resistance. This is particularly apparent for pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. 316L, the low carbon version of 316 stainless steel, is immune to grain boundary carbide precipitation

Alloy 316/316L (UNS S31600/S31603) is a chromium-nickelmolybdenum austenitic stainless steel developed to provide improved corrosion resistance to Alloy 304/304L in moderately corrosive environments. It is often utilized in process streams containing chlorides or halides.

Alloy 316H (UNS S31609) is a high carbon modification of Alloy 316 developed for use in elevated temperature service. The alloy has higher strength at elevated temperatures and is used for structural and pressure vessel applications at temperatures above 932°F (500°C). The higher carbon content of 316H also delivers higher tensile and yield strength than 316/316L and its austenitic structure provides excellent toughness down to cryogenic temperatures.

Alloy 317L has excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of chemicals. It resists attack in sulfuric acid, acidic chlorine and phosphoric acid. It is used in handling hot organic and fatty acids often present in food and pharmaceutical processing applications.

321 stainless steel plates are part of the austenitic family of stainless steel. 321 is basically a 304 grade containing a stabilizer of titanium. Type 321 is a good choice for applications where heat is an issue. 321 can be used in applications up to 900°C where 304 is normally used up to 500°C.

Stainless Steel 347 Sheet is one such sheet that has inherited certain properties of stainless steel. Stainless Steel 347 Plate offer resistance to heat and corrosion. ASTM A240 Type 347 are non-magnetic in nature and have high strength. These ASTM A240 Grade 347 have a stable design and superior construction.

409 has good oxidation resistance and formability, but lower corrosion resistance due to the chromium content. 409 is not as corrosion resistant as 304, 430 or 439 grades, however, 409 is far superior to mild carbon steel.

Alloy 410 stainless steel plate is the general purpose 12% chromium martensitic stainless steel that can be heat treated to obtain a wide range of mechanical properties. 410 stainless steel plate possesses high strength and hardness coupled with good corrosion resistance.

Alloy 446, also known as Stainless Steel 446, contains a high level of chromium in its composition and therefore demonstrates high resistance to both corrosion and oxidation. In fact, it possesses the best oxidation resistance out of any of the 400 grades of stainless steels.

Alloy 904L (UNS N08904) is a superaustenitic stainless steel that is designed for moderate to high corrosion resistance in a wide range of process environments. The combination of high chromium and nickel content, coupled with additions of molybdenum and copper, assure good to excellent corrosion resistance.
